SafeTag Pakistan's emergency QR system is designed to be as simple as possible — for the vehicle owner setting it up, and for the bystander who may one day encounter it. Here is a clear breakdown of how it works, step by step.
📊 SafeTag Pakistan system overview — from QR sticker to potential notification
Step 1 — The Sticker on Your Vehicle
When you subscribe to SafeTag Pakistan and your vehicle profile is verified and approved, you receive a physical QR sticker. This sticker is designed to be placed on your vehicle — typically the windscreen or rear windscreen — where it is visible to others.
The sticker contains a unique QR code linked to your vehicle profile. It does not display any personal information on its face — the data is only accessible when the QR is scanned.
1
Subscribe, set up your profile, receive your sticker
You register on SafeTag Pakistan, complete your vehicle profile with emergency contact details, and submit for admin verification. Once approved, your QR sticker is delivered to you physically. You place it on your vehicle.
No app needed — setup is done via the website
Profile is admin-verified before going live
Sticker contains your unique QR code only — no personal data visible on the sticker itself
2
Someone scans the QR — no app required
If an accident occurs and someone at the scene notices the QR sticker, they may scan it using their phone camera — the same way they would scan any QR code. No app needs to be downloaded. The scan opens a web page directly in their browser.
Works with any smartphone camera — Android or iPhone
No app download required for the person scanning
Page loads with basic information and action options
A scan log is recorded regardless of what the bystander does next
3
A WhatsApp alert may be sent to your registered contacts
When the QR is scanned, the system may automatically send a WhatsApp message to your registered emergency contacts. This message may include a link to a live incident page where further updates can be viewed.
Alert may go to up to two registered contacts
Contacts must have active WhatsApp numbers
A 2-hour cooldown applies — one alert per 2-hour window per vehicle
The alert links to a live page that updates if a bystander shares location or photos

The Optional Step — Location and Photos
After scanning, the bystander may choose to share additional information. The scan page includes a location sharing field and photo upload slots. If the bystander submits this, the registered contacts may be able to view the location and photos on the live incident page.
This is entirely optional and depends on whether the bystander chooses to engage further with the page. SafeTag cannot require or guarantee this action.
📍 What May Be Shared by a Bystander
A text description of the location or what happened
Up to 2 photos from the scene
This information, if submitted, may appear on the live incident page accessible to registered contacts
Important Limitations to Understand
SafeTag is a notification and identification tool — not an emergency response service. It does not dispatch help. It does not guarantee any outcome. Its effectiveness in any given situation depends entirely on whether someone at the scene scans the QR.
⚠️ What SafeTag Does Not Do
Does not contact emergency services — you or a bystander should still call Rescue 1122
Does not guarantee a WhatsApp alert is received — depends on network and WhatsApp availability
Does not guarantee anyone scans the QR — this depends entirely on bystander action
Does not guarantee location or photos are shared — this is optional for the bystander
📊 How the 2-hour cooldown works — prevents repeated alerts from multiple scans, while still logging every scan
✅ What SafeTag Is Designed to Do Well
Give bystanders a clear, simple action to take
Potentially notify registered contacts faster than any alternative
Work without any app — scannable by any smartphone
Log every scan for the vehicle owner to review
Allow location and photos to be shared to a live page accessible by registered contacts
