Privacy is a reasonable concern for anyone considering a QR sticker that links to personal data. This article explains transparently how SafeTag Pakistan handles your information — what is visible, to whom, under what circumstances, and what the system is designed to protect.
📊 Three levels of access — bystander, registered contacts, and SafeTag admin — each sees different information
What a Random Bystander Can See
The public scan page — the page that opens when anyone scans your QR sticker — is deliberately minimal. It is designed to give a bystander a clear action to take, not to expose your personal details to a stranger.
👤 Public Scan Page — Visible to Anyone Who Scans
Vehicle type (car, motorcycle, etc.)
Emergency contact call buttons — shows first name only, not full contact details
A field to submit a location description
Photo upload option (2 slots)
Your full name, owner photo, medical notes, and CNIC are not shown on this page.
What Your Registered Contacts May See
The incident page — linked from the WhatsApp alert that may be sent to your registered contacts — shows more information. This is intentional: these are people you have specifically designated as your emergency contacts, and they may need more context to act appropriately.
📲 Incident Page — Accessible via WhatsApp Alert Link
Your name and photo (if uploaded)
Vehicle type
Medical notes you chose to include
Location shared by the bystander (if submitted)
Photos from the scene (if submitted by bystander)
Direct call buttons to reach the other registered contact
📊 SafeTag collects only what you voluntarily provide — no CNIC, address, or financial data is ever collected
Common Safety Questions — Answered Directly
Can anyone find my home address through SafeTag? →
No. SafeTag does not collect or store home addresses. Your delivery address (used to send your physical sticker) is separate from your public profile and is never shown on any scan or incident page.
Can a stranger use the QR to track my vehicle? →
No. SafeTag does not use real-time GPS tracking. The QR is a static code — it does not broadcast your location. Location information only appears on the incident page if a bystander manually submits it after a scan. There is no ongoing tracking.
What if someone scans my QR out of curiosity — not in an emergency? →
Every scan is logged and visible to you as the account owner. If a non-emergency scan occurs, your registered contacts may receive a WhatsApp alert — which is why the 2-hour cooldown exists, to limit unnecessary alerts. The scan page itself shows minimal information to the scanner.
Who at SafeTag Pakistan can see my full profile? →
SafeTag admin staff review profiles during the verification process. This is necessary to ensure the information is accurate before a profile is approved and goes live. Admin access is restricted to the verification function.
Can I remove or update my information at any time? →
Yes. You can update your profile through your customer dashboard at any time. Changes go through re-verification before going live. You may also contact support to request data deletion.
📊 Every scan is logged in your dashboard — you have full visibility of when and how often your QR was scanned
